Hey all! I'm back! I guessed i forgot to mention that i'm going to KL for the weekend. Anyways, all the happenings are in this special first-ever bumper issue! Let's start shall we?
29th April
Can you believe it if i said that we (actually, my mum really. Err hehe. :s) started packing only on the day itself? Well yeah, believe it man. So, since my mum packs really good, i left her to it and met the kambing of an Aisha for lunch at McDonald's after remedial. Hey, it's not like i was skiving from work ya noe. I had to get some stuff for the trip too. Like... stuff la.
So yea, we talk talk and ended up in the library to get some books. Her, just to read over the weekend; me, for the long coach ride. I was supposed to send her home but her siblings wanted to meet to spend some time together. I split before they met. I had packing to do. See, i'm not half as bad. I'll just tell Mum what to pack for me. :D
Clothes checked.
Undergarments checked.
Medications checked.
Handphones checked.
Wallets checked.
Yep. We were all set to burn some serious cash.
Departure time: 6.30pm
We were at home still at 6pm.
Haiz. I think tardiness runs in the blood.
So bla bla bla.
After last minute dash to the supermarket to get snacks, we were FINALLY on the coach.
I took time to message two dearies.
Somehow, long bus rides always gives me the chills. Since i'm safely back at home, I shall say that everytime we take a coach for weekend trips, i get jittery and feel uneasy. I keep on thinking that we're gonna get into this huge accident and we'll CRASH!!! BOOM!!! BAM!!! BANG!!! Phissh... Yeah, i supposed those reports on bus accidents in Malaysia do freak me out.
So. ANYWAYS... I'm back home safe and sound. Thank God for that. Onto the trip...
Ahhh... Talking about the bus kan. I tell you, I recommend the company we used. I kinda forgot the name, but i think it's along the line of Triton. Triton something-something. It's huge sei! And you can stretch stretch all you want, walk along the aisle if you feel like it ( cuz it's so spacious!) and hello hello!!! The double seats are like loveseats in the movie theatre. You can push down the armrest in between you and your partner and cosy up sei. And did i mention that it's h.u.g.e?
Eh. Why am i so excited about these seats? Like i have anyone to cuddle up with. Hmph. I sat in the single seat somemore. Talk about reality.
30th April
Anywhat...
The trip is a four hour journey but don't know why, from the time we departed (about 7++pm because of technical delay) and plus the 2 stopovers for supper and toilet break, we ended up arriving in KL about 1++am. Like, yes la. I was still thinking of reaching there and having seafood dinner. The best part has got to be that we had absolutely no hotel booking PLUS PLUS! no return bus tickets home la.
Now how prepared is that, folks?
It's my dad la. He so big-headed, said dunnit to book la. Sure have hotel rooms la. Not full la. Sure have tickets back home la. Pui! My foot! You got see any hotels with available rooms not? ARGH... >:(
His arrogance is melampau-ing.
We were kinda stranded after arriving at the bus terminal. Tried the usual hotels but no luck. Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that we went on this trip with another family; my dad's friend apparently. I kinda don't fancy them 'cept mebbe for my dad's friend since he's funny and nice. So, both him and my dad went around searching for a hotel while we had to stand around and yawn and read a book. Me, really. I wanted to finish reading it before Aisha does. Don't ask why. It's an unspoken competition.
So, after an hour+ waiting, we got a room at this budget hotel. Chinatown Hotel Inn (2). LOL. I'll tell you why it's called (2). I saw this other hotel along the same stretch of shophouses. Now, i presume it's the sister hotel since its sign says, Chinatown Hotel Inn. LOL. I lol and told my brother about this lil info. He lol and said that they probably couldn't think of a better name. But really, it sounds like a sequel to a kung-fu movie.
Actually, they had no more rooms but the kind lady at the counter took us in since she already called all the other hotels in the precinct and all came up with zilch rooms. She let us stay the night in the employees' room. Cue for me and brother to drop jaws and whine. But, we good sports and say never mind. We let the others sleep in the rooms while we go to lobby and rest on the sofa. Phew. Thank god we didn't have to spend the night, zzz-ing in front of the reception cuz a while later, dad and his friend came down and said that they had a room. We happy but tired so just head on up with luggages and lo behold, the room they got is actually the office of the hotel. We went in and comforters and pillows already laid. Ok la. Not bad la. At least got room. We settled in and finally, all was dark and silent except for deep breathing and snoring and the beep of my watch. I checked the time. It read, 3.27am.
The next time i checked my watch was at 6.18am. I felt like i just closed my eyes and opened them again. For the first time, a holiday had never been tiring. We quickly got ready but the main highlight for that morning was that we had no soap or shampoo!!! Mum forgot, you see. But, the other family offered soap, no shampoo. Then right, since me and brother bathed at the same time in DIFFERENT cubicles next to each other, he actually swiped this bottle of shampoo from the other cubicle. He just had to reach up cuz the wall partition was only about 1.9m high. The person didn't know what hit him. HAHA. So after that shower hoo-ha and the settling of the accomodations and fee (we managed to book two rooms for the night), we took the train and went for breakfast at KLCC.
Most of the shops weren't open yet. So, we went straight up to the food court. Actually, me and brother wanted sushi for the longest time everytime we went to KLCC but everytime we came, it was always closed. It wasn't any different this time. We had to settle for ramen instead. I had the Tom Yum Ramen. It was alright i guess. Too spicy for breakfast but i was hungry sei. And furthermore, Tom Yum is my favourite soup. I think my bro had something called Sampori Ramen. Duck meat i think. LOL. I totally offended that dish cuz when my mum aked what it was, i said, "Err... If i heard right, but i think i'm wrong la, it's Sampoerna Ramen eh?" LOL. Kekek sei. For those in the dark, Sampoerna is actually the brand name of cigarettes. Tsk Tsk. And since i was really hungry, i had egg prata too. But i just learnt that it's called roti channai in M'sia. Not prata. Interesting.
We finished the munch munch and went a-shopping. ARGH. Heart pain la i see all the stuff. Nice nice. Want to buy but no size!!! I'm referring to that SEED jeans i was eyeing. Hmph. So takpe la. My mum say takde rezeki. But i did get some great bargains at other boutiques!! Whee!!
I wanna go shopping again la.
Anyone wanna follow?
Then, we went to this chain store called Mydin. It's something like Mustaffa Centre like that.
Cheap stuff but for Mydin, totally out of fashion. We had to tag along since the other family entertain me and my mum and brothers' fussiness at KLCC. Other than that, Mum also had the time to get some nice fabric for Hari Raya later this year. I chose light green!! Nice mice!
For dinner, we had seafood!!! My favourite!!! There were cockles, steamed promfret, fried squids and prawns! And all for.... RM61 only!!! Cool kan? I was tempted to eat somemore but the episode in KLCC SEED boutique made me change my mind. After dinner, we tired like how the Hush Puppy dog looks like but we still had Petaling Street to drop by. Whee!!! The cheap flea market! I have only one complain. Make the aisle wider please!! You have NO idea how frisky these people can get. One moment i felt a hand on my arse, the next i felt something brushed against my chest. EEEE!!! It took all i had to not punch the person next to me. Accidental or on purpose, I was pissed. Mum kept telling me to keep my arms in front of me and moved quick. Then how i want to see my stuff???
That Petaling Street shopping was so stressed out and irritating cuz i was pissed at dad for breaking his promise (yet again) and because of all the touchy feely people. I headed back to the hotel with almost-visible steam coming out my ears.
1st May
The night ended around 1++am and i woke up to Mum packing up the luggages. It was 7.20am. Today, we headed back to KLCC cuz the pantat gatal of my brother wanted to get a shirt he was eyeing the day before, and we ended up spending more on that trip back. After that, we went to Central Market for lunch. I had sizzling seafood noodle which tasted more like Mee Hong Kong with eggs. Since my dad already booked bus tickets in the early morning, we were scheduled to leave about 3.30pm. We were still shopping about 1pm. And i still haven't bought souverneirs. Damn.
Talking about souveneirs, I had a hard time with them. I didn't know what to buy! I had about 15 people to buy for and Mum was already fuming at why i chose expensive presents for them. Whoops. Haha. Actually, i still not happy with my choices cuz i think 3 of them deserved more than that. Hopefully, they'll like it cuz i'm really not good in picking presents and gauging size. Hehe. ;p
And so, we got everything done rush-rush and got to the bus terminal around 3.30pm exactly. This is now the second time that i get fuming mad. The bus was late for crying out loud!!!!!! Late for 2 freaking hours. We had to stand at the bottom of the bus terminal where all the buses wait and pick the passengers. All those smoke! All those pollution! I think my skin got shrunk by the fumes. Nabeh.
And to make it worse, the bus was nowhere as spacious or reclinable as the Triton coach. Waaaah!! I couldn't sleep without jerking awake every few minutes. Furthermore, the bus was going so fast, i was holding on to the seat like i was in a rocket, about to be blasted into space. I hate speed in buses and cars. Surprisingly, i welcome the hair-lashing speed on my dad's bike. I can smile insanely to myself when i ride pillion on the bike. Phweee~
Actually, the bus will only bring us to the Larkin terminal, not Singapore. So i was peeved about that too. My dad finally did something smart and rented an SUV with a driver, of course, to send us straight to our doorsteps. Fine. The lift lobby only la.
By the time we reached Larkin, it was 12 midnight. After midnight dinner/supper/breakfast at McDonald's, we finally parted ways with the other family and took off in the huge SUV. Whoa people, i think i have a thing with huge stuffs. HAHA. The SUV was huge and firm and exciting to ride in! I wanna get that kinda car! But after i get my dream car, the Mini Cooper.
The driver was friendly though i could tell that he's sleepy. I heard that he went to Toa Payoh just before taking us from Larkin. Poor guy. We got back safe and sound about 2++am. My brother and me were still wide awake so we tried on some of the clothes we bought and had a little fashion parade in front of the mirror. It was nice. I was still NOT tired but i tried to sleep. Ended up reading book. Got about 5 mins in when i was woken up about 6.30am. Oh and get this. I had my science practical mid year exams at 9am just now. The effect of just having 5 mins of sleep is kicking in. I'm pushing myself just to finish this entry.
So, i guess i'll get some 40 or a few hundred winks and wake up to dinner and CSI. I feel feverish now. The ulcer on my lips is getting bigger and it hurts!!! I'll crush some painkillers and sleep it off.
Hope you enjoyed your weekend though!!!
